The Cornerstone Ministry is responsible to plan, organize and implement activities that promote peace and justice and address the issues of poverty, housing, agricultural issues, healthcare, immigration, communication between cultures and issues of Hispanic and Native peoples. This ministry also works to promote the respect and protection of human life at all its stages from conception to natural death. The ministry coordinates the Catholic Advocacy Network (CAN) under the guidance of the Washington State Catholic Conference (WSCC).

This ministry, a collaboration of the Bishops of Washington State and the Catholic Charities agencies in their dioceses, is a nurturing response of the Catholic community to assist pregnant women, fathers, and their families by walking the journey from conception to their child’s fifth birthday. They will have access to mentors and holistic wrap-around services, including client intake and assessment by trained staff, pregnancy testing, parish-based mentors for mothers and fathers, parent support groups, individual and couples counseling.
