Registration is now open for the Cornerstone Catholic Conference.  This event is being hosted by our state’s four bishops to inspire and educate Catholics and others to continue working together to protect human life:  the unborn, individuals who live in poverty or on the margins of society, and people at the end of life.  It is so important to the life of the Church that no permission will be granted for outside speakers to come to the Diocese of Yakima that weekend, so as to encourage attendance at the conference.

It will be held Friday evening, Oct. 18 and all day Saturday, Oct. 19 at the Greater Tacoma Convention Center. The event will feature talks by:

  • Bishop Frank Caggiano (Keep the Faith by Daring To Be Different)
  • Sr. Miriam James Heidland (Transformation from the Heart: Why Your Encounter with Jesus Changes the World)
  • Sr. Norma Pimentel (Whoever Welcome A Child In My Name, Welcomes Me)
  • Archbishop Paul Etienne (Washington State Bishops’ Panel)

Spanish translation is available.  Partial scholarships are available.  Visit  to register.  Feel free to distribute the attached materials as appropriate.
