Let us pray for the Church, that she may adopt listening and dialogue as a style of life at every level, allowing herself to be guided by the Holy Spirit towards the world’s peripheries.

Mission is at the heart of the Church. And even more when a Church is in Synod. This synodal dynamic alone carries its missionary vocation forward – that is, her response to Jesus’ mandate to proclaim the Gospel.
I would like to recall that nothing ends here. Rather, we are continuing an ecclesial journey here.
This is a journey we will travel, like the disciples of Emmaus, listening to the Lord who always comes to meet us.
He is the Lord of surprises.
Through prayer and discernment, the Holy Spirit helps us carry out the “apostolate of the ear,” that is, listening with God’s ears in order to speak with the word of God.
And thus, we draw near to the heart of Christ. Our mission and the voice that draws us to him spring from him.
This voice reveals to us that the heart of mission is to reach out to everyone, to seek everyone, to welcome everyone, to involve everyone, without excluding anyone.

Oremos por la Iglesia, para que adopte la escucha y el diálogo como estilo de vida a todos los niveles, dejándose guiar por la fuerza del Espíritu Santo hacia las periferias del mundo.

La misión está en el corazón de la Iglesia. Y más aún. Cuando una Iglesia está en Sínodo, solamente esa dinámica sinodal la lleva adelante la vocación misionera. Es decir, la respuesta al mandato de Jesús de anunciar el Evangelio.
Quisiera recordar que aquí no se acaba nada, sino que aquí continúa un camino eclesial.
Se trata de un camino que recorreremos, como los discípulos de Emaús, escuchando al Señor que siempre sale a nuestro encuentro.
Es el Señor de la sorpresa.
Por medio de la oración y el discernimiento, el Espíritu Santo nos ayuda a realizar el “apostolado del oído”, o sea, escuchar con los oídos de Dios para poder hablar con la palabra de Dios.
Y así nos acercamos al corazón de Cristo, del que brota nuestra misión y la voz que atrae hacia Él.
Una voz que nos descubre el centro de la misión que es llegar a todos, buscar a todos, acoger a todos, involucrar a todos, sin excluir a nadie.
Oremos por la Iglesia, para que adopte la escucha y el diálogo como estilo de vida a todos los niveles, dejándose guiar por la fuerza del Espíritu Santo hacia las periferias del mundo.
