Prayers for Fr. César Izquierdo/Oraciones por el P. César Izquierdo - Archived

Please keep Fr. César Izquierdo in your prayers. He finished his Sacred Theology Licentiate degree magna cum laude in Rome in late June, and has been waiting patiently since then for an appointment to renew his Religious Workers Visa so that he can begin work October 1 as parochial vicar of St. Joseph Parish in Kennewick. Unfortunately his September 23 visa appointment in Rome was canceled today due to limited consular services being available there.

The U.S. government is continuing to grant short-term visas for those providing “substantial economic benefits,” including research scientists, senior-level managers, professional athletes, investors, etc. We’d like to think that helping parishioners deepen their lives of faith provides substantial benefits to the country as well, of course, though perhaps not in the way our secular culture often views such matters.

We very much appreciated your prayers for Fr. Edgar Quiroga, whose immigration difficulties were resolved much more quickly than we had at first thought possible. We very much will appreciate your prayers now for Fr. Izquierdo.
