All Funds Received Will Go to Those in Need

The Diocese of Yakima is teaming up with Catholic Charities Serving Central Washington to help those in our diocese who are most affected by the Coronavirus Pandemic by creating the Light of Hope Fund. 100% of the donations to the fund will go to individuals and families impacted by this pandemic.  The primary mode of distribution will be through parishes in the Yakima Diocese to meet the needs in our communities of those suffering from the effects of the Coronavirus. Donations to the fund will be matched with up to $25,000 with funds from the Diocese of Yakima’s portion of the Catholic Campaign for Human Development collection. Please encourage those looking for a way to help their neighbors to contribute to the Light of Hope Fund. Donations may be made online by clicking on Light of Hope Fund or by mailing donations to Light of Hope Fund, Catholic Charities, 5301-E Tieton Drive, Suite C, Yakima, WA 98908. For those who cannot donate at this time, be assured that your prayers will be very much appreciated.

Catholic Charities is on the front line of helping with behavioral health/counseling, assistance to the elderly, food bank and emergency services, and essential needs for children and families.  Many of our parishes also operate food and clothing banks, or have programs in place to help those less fortunate.  Parishes will receive more information next week on how these funds may be requested to assist those most in need due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, regardless of who they are or where they are from, as our response to the Gospel’s call to do the works of mercy.
