The full Washington State Senate is expected to vote soon on a bill, SB 6219, that would mandate abortion coverage in insurance plans in the state of Washington.
The Catholic Bishops of Washington strongly oppose this bill because it would promote abortions while violating the constitutionally-protected conscience rights of individuals, churches, businesses and others. Archbishop J. Peter Sartain testified in person against the bill on January 16.
