Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Yakima

Our agencies provide help and create hope for thousands of people each year regardless of religious, social or economic backgrounds. Catholic Charities provides a myriad of vital services in communities through its network of agencies: Catholic Family & Child Service, Catholic Charities Housing Services and the St. Vincent Centers.  Click on the headlines highlighted in blue to visit our websites.

Catholic Family & Child Service

Our network of seven offices services 60,000 persons annually.  Whether supporting families through early learning services, strengthening families through specialized mental health services, or assisting seniors so they can remain living independently, CFCS is an essential resource for scores of people each year. Catholic Family & Child Service extends caring hands to people of all faiths, ethnicities, and socio-economic backgrounds. Our programs are an expression of faith, a response to Christ’s call to care for one another. By caring for one another, we bring hope to life.

Catholic Charities Housing Services

Working with local Catholic parishes, community groups and others sponsors, CCHS develops, owns and manages a variety of affordable housing developments that serve low-income, vulnerable and underserved populations. These affordable housing options include workforce, senior and special needs housing, and single-family homeownership. In addition to housing, CCHS provides a service-enriched living environment at each development where education, self-empowerment and self-sufficiency are promoted to benefit all residents and clients.  CCHS also promotes partnerships with local communities, collaborates and networks with other housing and community development entities as well as advocates for affordable housing and other issues; giving voice to the clients we serve at the federal, state, and local policy levels.

St. Vincent Centers

Formerly known as St. Vincent de Paul, these centers have been serving those in need within the Diocese of Yakima since 1946. While the name has changed, the philosophy and mission remain the same: bringing hope to life, especially for those most in need.  St. Vincent Centers in Yakima, the Tri-Cities and Wenatchee provide assistance to thousands of families each year through its three thrift stores, emergency services programs and food bank. The assistance provided offers crisis relief to those facing hardship by providing clothing, household items, food and shelter.

With your help, Catholic Charities across Central Washington provides services to more than 90,000 people each year.  We do not do this work alone… 2,000+ volunteers and you who provide financial assistance.  Click here to visit our Donation Page.
