Administrative Associate – Pastoral Center, Yakima WA
CLASSIFICATION: Full-time, Hourly SALARY RANGE: $17.00 to $20/hour.

The Diocese of Yakima seeks a highly motivated, energetic individual to serve as the Administrative Associate for the Bishop. The person who fills this position will perform administrative and secretarial assignments utilizing in-depth knowledge of the operations and procedures of the Diocese of Yakima. In addition, the Administrative Associate will provide support to the diocesan leadership and assist with projects and diocesan events. The position will require the individual to be self directed, organized and detail oriented, have a professional demeanor and understand the Catholic Church and its teachings. Part-Time Bilingual Secretary – St. Joseph Children’s Center, Kennewick
Salary: $15.74 – $16.28 / hour – Part-Time

St. Joseph Children’s Center in Kennewick is hiring a part-time secretary/receptionist. The secretary position provides support operations of the center so that the mission of the center is successfully achieved. This employee provides a professional and friendly demeanor in representing the center so that the clients,parishioners, the diocese, co-workers, vendors and the public encounter a positive spiritual experience when dealing with the Children’s Center front desk.

Religious Education Coordinator – St. Joseph Parish, Kennewick
Salary $20-$25 per hour – Full-Time position

St. Joseph Parish in Kennewick is seeking a full-time (35 hrs. per week) Religious Education Coordinator with one or more years of experience teaching or working with children in a classroom. Salary is $20-$25 per hour with benefits included. The religious education coordinator is responsible for organizing and developing the religious education and sacramental program for children and youth in school and the parish. Part-Time Office Assistant – St. Pius X, Quincy, WA
Salary: $16.00 – $18.00 per hour – Part-Time

St. Pius X Parish in Quincy is seeking a Part-time Office Assistant. The office assistant is responsible for completing verbal and written communication and being available on Tuesday through Friday from 1 PM to 5 PM (16 hours a week) and has knowledge about website construction and upkeep. Light lifting may be needed to complete tasks. There are no benefits available, and the time off may be negotiated in advance with approval. The unpaid holiday time is available and currently 11 days a calendar year.

The following are essential duties associated with the position of an Office Assistant:

  • Basic secretarial duties include, but are not limited to, greeting people, answering phones, filing, computer entry, photocopying, Bookstore sales, order supplies.
  • Must communicate in English and Spanish, both verbally and in written form.
  • Assist Office Administrator and Pastor in areas as needed, such as charity requests, social events, mailers, parishioner data entry, bulletin folding, etc.
  • Keep Sacrament fliers copied and available in church.
  • Send emails as needed to parishioners about upcoming parish-wide events.
  • Keep parish website information current.
  • Keep Parish Bookstore stocked and sell products as needed.

Bookkeeper Position-St. Pius X Parish in Quincy, WA
Salary: $19.00 – $21.00 per hour

St. Pius X Parish in Quincy, WA is seeking a part-time bookkeeper to perform the weekly duties of parish finances and payroll. The qualifying candidate must have knowledge of Quick books, Excel, and have an accounting background.

The successful candidate will possess a minimum of an AA degree. The bookkeeper is a part-time, hourly position. Compensation $19.00 to $21.00 per hour. Benefits: Employee benefits are not available for employees working less than 20 hours a week. Vacation: no vacation accrual

Christ the King Catholic School is looking for a full-time lead school custodian who works well with others, takes pride in their work, and demonstrates initiative. The school custodian will work with the custodial team to ensure the following:

  • All publicly accessible areas of the school are clean and ready for staff members, students, and the public to use.
  • Make minor repairs, change light bulbs, vacuum, sweep and scrub floors, sanitize surfaces, and restock items, such as toilet paper, paper towels, and other supplies.
  • Maintain supply inventory, submit purchase orders and repair requests, and assist with preparations for events.

The ideal candidate is observant, respectful, motivated, and committed to providing school members, visitors, and staff with a clean, orderly environment and is knowledgeable about proper chemical handling and cleaning techniques.

The wage range is $20.00-$30.00/hour dependent on experience with full benefits. The normal shift is 8 hours long with a paid lunch. Normal working hours are from 11:30 am to 7:30 pm nightly, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday when school is in session with accommodations on Wednesday nights to compensate for Parish religious education activities. Throughout most of the year, the work days correspond with the school calendar. Occasionally there are additional temporary opportunities for more work hours throughout the year.

Position Summary:
PREPARES is an initiative of the Bishops of Washington state that is focused on developing support for families through the faith community. This position is responsible for the recruitment, and training of parish and community-based volunteers for PREPARES for the purpose of supporting pregnant and parenting women, families and their children up to age five. The position will coordinate with the Evangelization and Faith Formation Director with the Diocese of Yakima and Catholic Charities Parish Outreach Coordinator and other Catholic Charities programs for client referrals and resources.
